Where the forest meets the prairies
on the historic Dawson Trail
We acknowledge that we are on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Dakota and Nakota Nations, and in the Homeland of the Red River Métis Nation. We are located on Treaty 1 territory, with the Dawson Trail running through both Treaty 1 and Treaty 3 territories, Treaty 3 having been signed at the North-West Angle of the Lake of the Woods, and both treaties intimately linked by the story of the Dawson trail and the negotiations for the right of way for its construction.
